2020 SUCKED! Or… Was 2020 the year of RESILIENCE?!?!
First let’s look at the definition of resilience:
1. the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.
2. the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity.
Side Note: Can I get an AMEN to elasticity and spandex this year!!!
You pick. If we use the Law of Attraction, and go with the belief that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person’s life, or what you focus on is what expands, and you say, “2020 sucked”, then guess what: you will find all the reasons that 2020 sucked and some more.
If you sit down and look at all the reasons 2020 was AMAZING, you will find all the reasons that 2020 was AMAZING and some more. Make sense?
That is what your mind will be focused on, and will therefore seek more ways to find it.
We need to mentally train our brains- re-wire them to see the GOOD. Like working out a specific muscle group, the brain needs to be worked out as well. For example, when we stop physically working out or stay sedentary our muscles begin to atrophy, or get smaller, and lose their strength. The same goes for the brain. I don’t think the brain muscle literally gets smaller, but when focused on the negative thoughts, the positive thoughts begin to gradually decline due to the underuse or neglect and lose their strength.
Yes, 2020 threw all of us MANY curve balls for sure!
I’m not trying to negate anyone’s feelings or what they might be going through or have gone through, but everyone has the power of “catching our thoughts”, how we react to them, and how we choose to move forward. RESILIENCE! Negative thinking is not going to make your life more positive, period.
If you are feeling STUCK in the pattern of negativity due to the many curve balls that were thrown at you this year and WANT to feel more positive and RESILIENT right now and leading into 2020, I invite you to print this out, or get out a piece of paper and grab a pen. (We are 42% more likely to achieve our goals when we WRITE IT DOWN). Were you just about to click on something else on your phone or computer to avoid doing this?......Caught you! You’ve got to put the work in if you want to see results!
Let’s start with YOU. See the good and positives within yourself and how you have been pretty darn resilient this year!
Now, ask yourself these questions:
What are 3 ways I have been RESILIENT in my life and health this year?
1. ________________________________________________________
2. ________________________________________________________
3. ________________________________________________________
How can I continue to be even more positive and RESILIENT leading into 2021? And WHY….(what will being positive and RESILIENT do for me in 2021?)
1. ________________________________________________________
2. ________________________________________________________
3. ________________________________________________________
Whether or not you make resolutions, a new year is a great time to start the journey towards better health and well-being.
